Mother Day Greeting May 14, 2017 from Mark Zohar @markzohar
All mothers matter but let me tell you about my mother. She came to Canada as an immigrant at age 28 with three young kids.
In the year previous, she lost both her parents and her Omama (grandmother) leaving her with deep emotional scars that last til today.
When she arrived in Toronto she didn't speak a word of English. She spent the next 5 yrs isolated, learning the language & battling her loss
In the 1980's, long before Toronto was a startup city, she started two businesses in the health & beauty and fashion industries.
She pushed everyone around her, including her children & husband, to do better, try new things, take risks, live life fully without regrets.
Over the past 20 yrs, she has traveled to all 5 continents, skydived at age 68, studied at the Cordon Bleu, learned Spanish in Malaga...
Visited both poles, was at opening night at the new La Scala, trekked to see the gorillas in the mist, and enrolled in art history classes.
She is the living embodiment of carpe diem. But she always puts family first, and is instilling real "family values" in her seven grandkids.
My mother Aliza was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, raised in Rehovoth, Israel & grabbed life by the throat in Toronto, Canada. She persisted!
On my 73rd Birthday from Alon:
Happy birthday to the greatest guy I know. Can't say enough about what you mean to me, how you have made me a better person and an inspiration to me and my kids. I love you Abba
On my 73rd Birthday from Eyal:
